Privacy policy
Stillpoint is a free, open guide to autism. You can read every page without an account, and this policy explains the small amount of data the site does handle.
What we collect
If you use the Ask page, we store the question you type together with the language you chose and the time it was sent. We also store an approximate network address with each question. This is used only to apply a basic limit (a handful of questions per hour and per day) so that the free AI explainer can't be exhausted by automated abuse. Your browser also keeps a random, anonymous visitor ID (stored on your device) that is saved with each question so we can see how many questions come from the same browser. It contains no personal details, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.
That's the whole list. The site has no user accounts for readers, no newsletter, no advertising trackers, and no analytics that follow you across other websites.
What we don't collect
- The AI answers you receive are never saved — they exist only on your screen.
- We don't ask for, or store, your name, email address, or any profile details.
- We don't sell data or share it with advertisers, ever.
How your data is used
Saved questions are used for two things: keeping the explainer available (abuse limits) and letting the site's owner see, in aggregate, which topics readers are asking about so the guide can be improved. Questions are visible only to the site owner. Please don't put identifying details — names, workplaces, diagnoses of others — in your question; treat it like a message to a stranger who wants to help.
AI answers
When you ask a question, its text is sent to an AI service through Lovable's AI gateway to generate the answer. The service is instructed not to retain the conversation for training. Answers are general information, not medical advice, and may occasionally be incomplete — use the trusted sources and your own care providers for anything personal.
How long we keep it
Questions are kept for as long as they remain useful for the purposes above, and can be deleted on request. Answers, browsing history, and anything you never send us aren't stored at all.
Your rights
You can ask what is stored connected to a question you sent, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or object to it being kept. Email Stillpointautism@gmail.com and we'll take care of it.
Security
Data is stored in a managed cloud database with access restricted to the site owner. The dashboard that displays questions requires a private sign-in.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear on this page. This policy was last updated in September 2026.
